This may sound a bit unusual, but
while I was in the Jungle, a group of us used to make up songs to pass the time on slow
nights. This is just one of many that will appear on the Jungle Juke Box:
The Long, Dead, Trip.
(sung to the tune of Gilligan's Island Theme)Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...
A tale of a long 'dead' trip.
That started on this Jungle Dock,
Aboard the Sadie Ship.
The Skipper was a college program kid;
There were no guests in sight.
We sent him 'dead' not knowing he
Would never come back that night
Would never come back that night.

The weather started getting rough,
The Sadie, she was tossed,
And even though he was on a track
The Skipper still got lost.
The Skipper still got lost.
The Sadie Came in Empty
So we all did our best
To find the Kid
At the pygmy camp,
The Gorilla tent,
Or the shrine.
No Sign of him
In the hippo pool, or the falls -
Guess he's gone for all time!
